About the Event
About the workshop
In this introductory workshop on ecological, or permaculture design, we'll explore the basics of this design science, rooted in nature, including the ethics, principles, and attitudes that it's founded on. Learn strategies and techniques for how to better understand and connect with your landscape. Understand the design process, step-by-step, and gain confidence in your ability to make good decisions for you and your landscape. Engage with other participants in order to create a base map and concept design plan for your landscape. Whether it has a vegetable garden, fruit trees, egg-laying chickens, outdoor dining area, or a space for quiet contemplation in nature, it's all possible in your own backyard, and it all starts with good design.
What you will need
A few blank sheets of paper (8.5" x 11" is great), tools for drawing (ie. pen, pencil, colored pencils, markers, crayons etc.), tracing paper (not necessary, but very helpful), internet access. (If you are unable to adquire these materials ahead of time for any reason, just let us know before, and we can accomodate you).
